MASTER is pleased to announce that we have launched the implementation of a new, one-year project titled “Through Free Access to Information to a Transparent Public Administration,” supported by the Ministry of Public Administration.
The project focuses on improving the application of the Law on Free Access to Information (FAI) by duty bearers, as well as strengthening the capacities of law users.
Additionally, the main goal is to ensure the proper exercise of the right to access information and the availability of open data, while highlighting good legislative solutions in the field of free access to information adopted in European Union member states.
The implementation of the project will also contribute to specific objectives reflected in the education of public administration employees and the improvement of transparency within the executive branch.
The main activities planned for the upcoming period include conducting public opinion research on citizens’ satisfaction with the transparency and openness of public administration bodies. Alongside the research report, we will also prepare an Analysis of the current situation.
One of the most important activities of this project is the training of civil servants to better understand the benefits of an open public administration, particularly in the application of existing laws and standards aligned with EU practices.
In addition, we plan to develop a Publication that will include citizens’ recommendations, produce an educational film titled “FAI to Transparent Public Administration,” and organize info days and educational workshops in the northern, central, and southern regions of Montenegro.
Finally, we will hold a Round Table where we will present the results and key achievements, and open a dialogue with representatives of institutions and organizations with the aim of improving transparency in the work of public authorities, particularly in relation to FAI.
We believe that the efforts invested in the implementation of this project, guided by good practices from EU member states, will contribute to improving the current state of transparency in public administration.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Public Administration under the call “Public Administration Accessible to All.”
