The European Policy Network – MASTER presents a new analysis entitled “Explore and Inspire: Science for the Future”, which explores the state of science and innovation for young people in Montenegro. The analysis answers the key questions: does Montenegro have enough laboratories, why do young scientists leave, what are the opportunities for mobility and international cooperation, and how do our opportunities compare with practices in other countries, such as Germany.
Through thorough research and an overview of European practices, the analysis points to key challenges and opportunities in the field of science development and innovation aimed at young people. The goal is to show that engaging in science and research activities for young talents in Montenegro does not have to be an unattainable ambition, but an achievable professional path – provided that institutional support, timely promotion, adequate resources and a stimulating work environment are systematically provided.
This analysis provides insight and examples of good practice that can serve as a basis for improving policies and programs that will encourage young people to recognize the importance of science not only as a profession, but also as an important segment of social development.
The preparation of the analysis was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation through a public competition for the distribution of funds for the financing of projects and programs of non-governmental organizations in the priority area of public interest in the field of science for the year 2024.
