The project “European Practice for Road Safety”

MASTER is implementing the project “European Practice for Road Safety,” supported by the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs.

This new MASTER project aims to increase the level of awareness among traffic participants regarding passenger safety and security, through quality non-formal education in this field, with a particular focus on young people. The goal is to reduce the number of accidents and traffic incidents in the future, and consequently the number of casualties and injuries.

The main objective of the project is to raise the overall level of traffic culture among all citizens, with a special emphasis on young people, who represent a very active group in traffic interactions.

Through education and the promotion of compliance with the norms prescribed by the Law on Road Traffic Safety, the project seeks to improve traffic culture and significantly reduce traffic accidents in Montenegro.

The focus of the project “European Practice for Road Safety” is to increase both personal and social responsibility, while fostering the acquisition of new knowledge and the expansion of existing knowledge related to traffic culture, as well as the understanding and respect of traffic regulations.

The project will last 12 months, with a strong emphasis on activities aimed at preventing the use of alcohol and psychoactive substances before and during driving, reducing mobile phone use while driving, speeding, promoting seat belt use, wearing protective helmets, preventing illegal overtaking, aggressive driving, and other harmful behaviors in traffic, in order to highlight the seriousness of the issue.

The MASTER team aims to improve the level of awareness across Montenegrin society regarding the current state of traffic policy, particularly in terms of passenger safety and security, with a focus on young people.

Finally, by aligning with EU standards and regulations, the implementation of this project will contribute to progress in this area, as it not only focuses on educating the target group, but also aims to improve the legislative framework related to traffic policy.
