The Network for European Policies MASTER is pleased to announce that it has started the implementation of a new one-year project “Step towards another – Intercultural Montenegro”, whose general goal is to contribute to the development and strengthening of interculturalism and social cohesion in Montenegro through institutional empowerment, education, media promotion and cultural dialogue. The project is aimed at reducing the ethnic distance, overcoming stereotypes and affirming the value of intercultural understanding and sustainable social development.

By implementing the planned activities, the project will directly contribute to:
- increasing the level of knowledge among young people and the general public about the importance of intercultural competences, coexistence, solidarity and joint responsibility for the preservation of multi-ethnic harmony and social stability;
- improving social cohesion through strengthening the sense of belonging, equality and active citizenship, with a special focus on marginalized communities;
- development of intercultural dialogue and competences through education, multimedia content, networking and promotion of positive examples of cooperation among members of different ethnic, cultural and religious groups.

The target group of the project is young people from different ethnic and regional communities, with a special focus on the north of Montenegro, while the ultimate beneficiaries are members of minority peoples and communities, system institutions, the media and all citizens of Montenegro.

The main activities of the project include:
- Three-day training for administrators of youth services “Intercultural Guide”;
- Production of the documentary film “Intercultural Montenegro”;
- Premiere and film mini-tour throughout Montenegro;
- Intercultural manifestation “Festival of Encounters”, as a final conference and an open space for dialogue and exchange of experiences.

“Step towards another – Intercultural Montenegro” wants to inspire young people and the general public to recognize the richness of diversity and to build bridges of cooperation and trust, because only together, through mutual understanding and respect, can we create a society in which diversity is our advantage, and togetherness is our path to a sustainable future. Therefore, let this project be an incentive to recognize the opportunity for togetherness, understanding and peace in each step towards another.

The project “Step towards another – Intercultural Montenegro” is supported by the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights through the competition “Montenegro – Land of Interculture: Interculturalism to Social Cohesion and Inclusive Society”
