Project “Strengthened for tomorrow – the right to support”

The network for European policies MASTER started the implementation of the project “Strengthened for tomorrow – the right to support”, which aims to improve the quality of support for young people who grow up in families at risk or without parental care.
Although there is a developed legal framework for the protection of children and young people in Montenegro, practice shows that many young people are still left without sufficient preparation, support and stability on the way to an independent life.

The project “Strengthened for Tomorrow” has a mission to change this pattern — to make the right to support a real chance for development, not just a formal right on paper.
The goal is to build a system that understands the needs of young people, provides them with continuous and tailored support, and encourages them to develop self-confidence, skills and a sense of belonging to the community.

During the next 12 months, a series of activities aimed at strengthening the system and empowering users will be implemented:

🔹 Research on the experiences and needs of young people growing up in the social protection system, with the aim of reviewing the existing practice and identifying key challenges.
🔹 Education and training for experts from centers for social work and other relevant institutions, focused on improving approaches and methods of working with young people.
🔹 Workshops with young people – interactive sessions that allow them to express their opinions, share experiences and develop the skills needed for independence.
🔹 Promotional campaign spreading the message of solidarity, empathy and the importance of supporting young people.
🔹 A documentary that will show the authentic stories of young people, their struggles, successes and inspiring moments, giving a face and a voice to those who are often not heard enough.
🔹 Dialogue between institutions, communities and young people themselves, through which problems will be openly discussed, but also about possible solutions that lead to sustainable changes.

“Young people who grow up without stable family support are not looking for pity, but an opportunity. It is our duty to provide it to them – through a system that understands, monitors and empowers, and not just records,” said the Network for European Policies MASTER.

The project “Strengthened for tomorrow – the right to support” is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography of Montenegro, through the public competition “Let’s unite for children, youth and their families” in 2025.

Through this initiative, MASTER continues to build a bridge between politics and reality, giving voice to young people and strengthening the system that should follow, understand and support them — because the right to support is not a privilege, but the foundation of a dignified life.
