MASTER is a member of Negotiation Chapter 22 – Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments

The Executive Director of MASTER, MSc Andrea Popović, has become a member of Negotiation Chapter 22 – Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments.

At a session of the Government of Montenegro, a Decision was adopted on the establishment of the Negotiating Working Group for the preparation and conduct of accession negotiations of Montenegro to the European Union, specifically for the area of the EU acquis related to Negotiation Chapter 22 – Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments.

We are very pleased that MASTER has formally become part of the negotiation process.

The tasks of the Negotiating Working Group include:

  • Participating in the analytical screening and assessment of the alignment of Montenegro’s legislation with the EU acquis related to Chapter 22;
  • Monitoring the implementation of obligations from the negotiation position for Chapter 22 – Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments;
  • Participating in the preparation, implementation, and reporting on action plans and other documents relevant to Montenegro’s EU accession in the field of regional policy and coordination of structural instruments;
  • Monitoring and reporting on the fulfillment of final benchmarks in Chapter 22;
  • Contributing to the preparation and revision of Montenegro’s EU Accession Programme, as well as monitoring and reporting on its implementation in relation to Chapter 22 – Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments;
  • Preparing contributions and participating in meetings of the Subcommittee on Transport, Environment, Energy, Regional Development and Statistics, as well as the Stabilisation and Association Committee;
  • Participating in expert missions and performing other tasks relevant to the negotiation process, with the support of public administration bodies and other institutions in the field of the EU acquis related to Chapter 22 – Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments.

In this way, the MASTER team will further contribute to improving policies in the field of regional policy and structural funds.
