The Network for European Policies – MASTER is pleased to present a new analysis entitled “European practice for the development of sports in Montenegro”, created within the project of the same name.
The analysis provides a comprehensive overview of European standards and models in the field of sports, as well as their application in the Montenegrin context. A special emphasis was placed on youth sports – pupils and students – through consideration of national policies, the legislative framework, the role of educational institutions, as well as challenges and opportunities for further development.
One of the key segments of the document is MASTER’s research, which included the attitudes and habits of citizens in Montenegro regarding physical activity, the frequency of playing sports and the impact of healthy lifestyles on mental well-being. The results indicate the need for additional investment in sports infrastructure, education and the creation of an inclusive and safe sports environment.
The analysis provides concrete recommendations for the improvement of national policies in accordance with European standards, with reference to examples of good practice from EU member states. The document is intended for decision-makers, educational institutions, sports organizations and the general public, with the aim of serving as a basis for strategic planning and development of sustainable sports programs in Montenegro.
By publishing this analysis, MASTER wants to contribute to the affirmation of European values in sports and to raising awareness of the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles for young generations. Because by investing in youth sports, we are investing in generations that will be more resilient, active and ready for the challenges of modern society.
Our goal is to make sport a daily necessity, not a privilege – and that every young man in Montenegro has the opportunity to grow through sport.
The project “European practice for the development of sports in Montenegro” is supported by the Ministry of Sports and Youth through the competition “Sports for all – everyone for sports”.
