Voices Without Barriers: Stories of Women with Disabilities Who Are Changing Society

We are pleased to present the MASTER podcast series “Without Barriers: Equal, Visible, Unstoppable,” implemented as part of a project aimed at improving the position of women and girls with disabilities in Montenegro, with the support of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.

This series represents one of the key project activities focused on raising awareness of the multiple and intersectional discrimination faced by women and girls with disabilities, while promoting their rights, visibility, and equal participation in society.

Through six episodes, the series features authentic conversations with women with disabilities, activists, institutional representatives, and experts, who share their experiences, challenges, and perspectives on opportunities to improve the position of persons with disabilities in Montenegro.

The podcast is hosted by Anđela Miličić, whose open and empathetic conversations with guests contribute to a deeper understanding of personal experiences, institutional challenges, and the social barriers that still persist.

The series includes the following episodes and guests:

🔹 Anđela Dragović – Association of the Blind of Montenegro
She speaks about her personal experiences in education and employment, as well as the everyday obstacles and discrimination faced by persons with disabilities.

🔹 Saša Komarica – Disability Rights Activist and Poet
She shares an experience that intertwines personal struggle, public advocacy, and artistic expression, speaking about the strength that shapes her journey.

🔹 Irena Rakočević, M.A. – Ministry of Human and Minority Rights
She discusses the importance of institutional action in protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as the need to combat discrimination and violence.

🔹 Milijana Ćirković – Paralympic Table Tennis Athlete
She speaks about perseverance, sporting challenges, and sport as a space of equal opportunities and empowerment.

🔹 Nikolina Joksimović Parađina – Disability Rights Activist
She discusses motherhood among women with disabilities and the challenges they face.

🔹 Dragana Joksimović – Director of the NGO “Nova žena” (New Woman)
She speaks about entrepreneurship among women with disabilities, the challenges involved, and the importance of self-confidence and empowerment.

The series is available on the MASTER – Network for European Policies YouTube channel, where all episodes have already been published and are accessible to the wider public.

Through personal stories and expert insights, the podcast contributes to breaking stereotypes, increasing the visibility of women with disabilities, and promoting equality in society.
