MASTER is a member of Negotiation Chapter 26 – Education and Culture

Our Tijana Raičević, representing the Network for European Policies – MASTER, has become a member of Negotiation Chapter 26 – Education and Culture.

At yesterday’s session of the Government of Montenegro, the Decision on the establishment of the Negotiating Working Group for the preparation and conduct of accession negotiations of Montenegro to the European Union was adopted, specifically for the area of the EU acquis related to Negotiation Chapter 26 – Education and Culture.

We are very pleased that the MASTER team has now formally become part of the negotiation process.

The tasks of the Negotiating Working Group include:

  • Participating in the analytical screening and assessment of the alignment of Montenegro’s legislation with the EU acquis related to Negotiation Chapter 26 – Education and Culture;
  • Monitoring the implementation of obligations from the negotiation position for Chapter 26 – Education and Culture;
  • Participating in the preparation, implementation, and reporting on action plans and other documents relevant to Montenegro’s EU accession in the field of education and culture;
  • Contributing to the development and revision of Montenegro’s EU Accession Programme, as well as monitoring and reporting on its implementation in relation to Chapter 26 – Education and Culture;
  • Preparing contributions and participating in meetings of the Subcommittee on Innovation, Human Resources and Social Policy, and the Stabilisation and Association Committee;
  • Participating in expert missions and performing other tasks relevant to the negotiation process, with the support of public administration bodies and other institutions in the field of the EU acquis related to Chapter 26 – Education and Culture.

In this way as well, the MASTER team will contribute to improving policies in the areas of education, youth, culture, and sport.
