Youth and Institutions for Economic Prosperity

Last Friday, the MASTER team organized the Forum “Aj rabotaj – let’s go to the EU.”

As part of the Forum, we hosted the panel “Youth Entrepreneurship in Montenegro – Opportunities and Challenges,” where we had the honor of welcoming representatives of institutions and young entrepreneurs.

Ms. Šaković, @mercrnegore, spoke about the activities carried out by the Ministry of Economic Development in supporting young entrepreneurs and how interested young people in Montenegro are in starting their own businesses.

Spasoje Vujošević, representing the Investment and Development Fund @investiciono_razvojni_fond, discussed the Fund’s activities aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs and explained how complex the procedures for applying to credit lines can be. He also shared examples of successful businesses started by young people with the support of the IRF.

Bojana Kalezić, from the Secretariat for Entrepreneurship and Investments of the Capital City @glavni_grad_podgorica, presented the activities implemented by the Capital City to encourage entrepreneurship and highlighted the level of support that can be expected in the coming period.

From the perspective of someone who actively encourages young people to engage in entrepreneurship, Igor Goranović, @gconsultingpg, one of the workshop lecturers, discussed what young people identify as the biggest challenges when starting a business and which skills they lack. He also provided examples of successful young entrepreneurs in Montenegro and suggested ways to motivate youth to pursue entrepreneurship.

Željko Ivanović @zeljko___ivanovic, a young entrepreneur, spoke about why young people in Montenegro often hesitate to start a business and what skills he gained during the three-month “Aj rabotaj – let’s go to the EU!” workshops. He shared his personal journey into entrepreneurship, briefly presented his business, and encouraged young people to take that step.

MASTER’s vision is active and economically independent young people who, through their ideas and innovations, will contribute to Montenegro’s faster accession to the EU.
