We are pleased to present to you MASTER’s new project “Campaign for Freedom”.
Human trafficking represents a serious crime and social problem involving the criminal exploitation of vulnerable groups for economic gain. This phenomenon includes various forms of forced labor, sexual exploitation, organ trafficking and other forms of abuse. According to United Nations data, every fourth victim of human trafficking in the world is a child, while women and girls are most often affected by sexual exploitation.
Although human trafficking is recognized as a global challenge, no research has been conducted so far on the level of knowledge of the general public about this problem in Montenegro. In order to improve information and education, especially among marginalized groups, MASTER implements the “Campaign for Freedom” project, in accordance with European standards.
The project includes a number of activities:
1. Creation and implementation of the “Campaign for Freedom” media campaign, which will raise awareness about human trafficking.
- Research on citizen awareness, which will include over 500 participants and provide relevant data on the perception of this problem.
3. Development and publication of the Analysis of the situation, with an overview of national, international and EU legislation, examples of good practice and recommendations for Montenegro.
- Production of the film “Campaign for Freedom”, which will show the brutality of this phenomenon through the stories of the victims.
- Workshops for young people in five municipalities (Podgorica – Konik, Bijelo Polje, Tuzi, Herceg Novi and Nikšić), which will gather 80 young people and introduce them to ways of recognizing and fighting human trafficking.
The fight against human trafficking is not only the responsibility of institutions, but also the responsibility of each of us – together we can be the voice of those who have lost it and stand in the way of this serious crime!
