“I Have the Right!” in Podgorica – Human Rights Workshops

The MASTER team, in cooperation with young people, continues to promote human rights and raise awareness of their importance!

As part of the project “I Have the Right!”, we held the first in a series of workshops last night at the Youth Center in Podgorica, aimed at improving respect for human rights, with a special focus on young people in Montenegro.

Over more than two hours of engaging and dynamic discussion, participants were guided by the esteemed Duška Šljivančanin, Advisor to the Ombudsman for Children’s Rights, with the support of Youth Center administrators Katarina Radović and Dušan Stanović.

This aspect was particularly important, as the mentioned administrators had previously undergone training in the field of human rights within this project and, as peer educators, successfully applied their knowledge and experience in working with young people in Podgorica.

In the first part of the workshop, participants were introduced to the concept of human rights, exploring their universality, inalienability, and indivisibility, with a special emphasis on the importance of their respect and protection worldwide.

During the interactive segment, young participants were encouraged to identify their personal rights. Through group work and exercises, they recognized which rights matter most to them and explored ways to realize them.

At the end of the workshop, participants worked on identifying obstacles that prevent them from exercising their rights and developed innovative strategies to overcome these challenges.

MASTER will continue to encourage young people to initiate actions within their communities, become active citizens, and contribute to positive social change.

The second workshop will take place next Thursday, when the MASTER team will visit the Youth Center in Nikšić. Interested young people can apply through our website and social media channels.
