Active Youth for a More Inclusive Society and the Path Towards the EU

The MASTER team has continued the implementation of the Academy “Youth Activism Towards the EU!”

The third educational workshop within the Academy focused on youth rights and was led by the esteemed Duška Šljivančanin, Advisor to the Ombudsman for Children’s Rights.

Through two hours of engaging lectures and exercises, participants were informed about their rights in accordance with the Constitution, the law, and the most important international conventions, as well as human rights in general.

Following the normative part, participants were introduced to the full range of rights and how to advocate for their protection and respect.

We also presented various protection mechanisms, including legal aid, civil society organizations, and institutions dealing with human rights.

In the second part of the workshop, through group work and the interactive “Rights Cards” activity, participants ranked, grouped, and presented the rights that young people should have, followed by a discussion where they shared their recommendations.

The workshop provided useful information and practical tools for young people to better understand and protect their rights.

Participants showed strong interest in this important topic and actively engaged in all parts of the workshop.

We believe that the knowledge gained will contribute to raising awareness of citizens’ rights, and MASTER will continue its efforts to build a more democratic and inclusive society through activism.

The Academy is one of the activities within the project “Youth Activism Towards the EU!”, supported by the Capital City of Podgorica @glavni_grad_podgorica through the Public Call for the Funding of NGO Projects and Programmes for 2023.
